Rays of Beauty

You look at me through goggles that altered my beauty,
With your snide comments and rumors with attempt to break my mold.
Do you really think your position allows you to pass judgement and make me feel empty?
Have you noticed there's a draft to your soul?

Well, just in case you don't know let me inform you,
Look at your life do you really believe your actions were right?
Who's kissing you and tucking your loved ones in at night?
You say it was mutual but everyone know that's not true!

With that in mind, you bring laughter to my life and joy to my heart,
Because for you to fake your position in life, shows you aren't that smart.
So, honey love, continue to fake being a christian and wearing your mask,
Because the only person you're fooling is fool you look at last!

Videos: True or False

So, I'm surfing the channels on Directv and ran across some videos. Now, I love music, all types: neo soul, alternative, rap, country western, dance hall and house (to name a few). On this particular day (a Wednesday to be exact), I landed on some rap videos. The song that caught my attention was called the "Stanky Leg." Now, I understand the song is just a song, but what baffles me is having little girls on there doing the stanky leg. So, I asked myself... "Self, do you think those little girls are that focused on their school work and do they actually believe that dance is cute?" Granted, I have passed the age of 30, so things that were cute to me when I was 22 now seem idiotic to me now.

So, I wonder.... Do the younger generation believe videos to hold worth or do they understand that videos are for entertainment? Yes, some rappers use their music to tell their journey in life and to educate their listeners, but I fail to understand exactly the purpose of the "Stanky Leg!" Don't get me wrong, I am not "dissing" the song, just wondering how much validity stems from music? Do I think music is the problem for the "cries" in the world today? NO, not at all!!! I believe music is a form of education and that we [society] should understand rearing comes from within the home not the idiot box!

It Starts at Home

Okay Ladies,

What happened to our values, to thy own self be true? Women long to be loved, long for validation, long for acceptance, long for the approval of other women, but what we women fail to realize is...WE MUST ACCEPT OURSELVES FIRST!!! I have friends in their late 30s & 40s that are still searching for completeness. They are searching for this completeness within a man/mate. This is the wrong answer ladies! Stand in the mirror and review the vision you see and what you don't like, edit it! You are the author, so change what you don't like, but most of all realize every flaw you have is a gift from God. If you wear glasses, embrace this accessory through finding glasses that compliment you! If freckles, which I personally believe adds beauty, wear your makeup where everyone can view your natural beauty! So, what I am saying to you is this, the things in your life that you do not like, change them and for the things in your life you can't change....ACCEPT THEM!

Now, there's another problem that is brewing into a national crisis. That is the loss of innocence for our little girls and those not ready for a sexual and high demanding relationship. Lets teach our future that they are worthy of every desire they imagine!! Tell young women they are beautiful, they are smart, they are talented, they are a precious treasure! Let them know that all things are possible and to never give up, never give in...no matter what! Donate time to the young women in your community and within your life to show them how true women act and how the stars are the limit!

Let's teach them to reach beyond the sky, to reach for the stars and to let noone and nothing limit their potential! Remember, the now is our future! Lets mold them into valuable products within society.
